The Territory of Belfort invited to Monaco by Prince Albert II for the “Grimaldi Historical Sites Meeting”
This weekend of June 4 and 5, the 3rd edition of the “Grimaldi Historical Sites Meeting” is taking place in Monaco. Invited by the Principality, a delegation from the Territory of Belfort is present. The opportunity to return to the links between Prince Albert and the City of the Lion.
A delegation from the Territory of Belfort, invited by Monaco, to participate June 4 and 5 at the “Grimaldi Historical Sites Meeting”. This event consists in welcoming former strongholds of the Grimaldi Dynasty to the Place du Palais Princier. For this third edition, whose entry is free and free, the Principality welcomes 14 different municipalities, from three departments.
Thus, Florian Bouquet, president of the Territory of Belfort department, Maryline MoralletDepartmental Councilor for Tourism and Senator Cédric Perrin, are on site. The latter are accompanied by a delegation representing the municipalities of Belfort and Giromagny.
“This visit will aim to develop, strengthen and revive the ties of friendship with Monaco, whose Territory of Belfort shares a common history, while promoting the tourist and gastronomic assets of our department.“, says the department.
Albert II is count of Belfort by his ancestors. A prince of Monaco indeed married the last descendant of Cardinal de Mazarin, who had been made Count of Belfort in 1659 by Louis XIV.
