FC Nantes | U19: FC Nantes – AS Monaco
Which season ! After the professional group winner of the Coupe de France, the young generation U19 of FC Nantes is titled Champion of France! After a final won against AS Monaco (3-2), Pierre Aristouy’s players are listed in a new line on the list of winners of the Nantes Academy. A great performance that rewards the work of all those who work daily to raise the yellow and green colors high. We are Winners 2022, well done!
As in 2013, the final of the French U19 Championship pitted AS Monaco against FC Nantes this Sunday, June 5. Competing in Saint-Quentin at the Paul-Debrésie stadium, the Yellows-and-Greens, first in group C at the end of the regular season, faced AS Monaco, leader of group D and author of two performances in the final phase against Joan of Arc of Drancy (4-0) and against Paris SG (4-2). The scenario of this new poster smiled at the Yellows-and-Greens. In numerical superiority from the 5th minute of play following the exclusion of Enzo Couto, author of a fault in the position of last defender, the Yellows-and-Greens took advantage of the spaces to unblock the debates. Adel Mahamoud (23rd) and Hamissou Dangabo (25th) sounded in two minutes the ASM which reacted despite the blow of fate by Mamadou Coulibaly (34th).
Enterprising on the return from the locker room, AS Monaco played their all out to remember but missed a first opportunity following a save on the line from Junior Diaz (61st). United and diligent, Sacha Ziani’s teammates carried a decisive rush signed Titouan Fortun (74th). A thrust that allowed Nantes to resist the Monegasques who reduced the mark on a second achievement by Mamadou Coulibaly (87th). In vain against Nantes winners 2022!
Like the first team, Nantes’ performance hoisted FC Nantes onto a new European stage. The National U19s represent FC Nantes in the UEFA Youth League. Congratulations !
