The corona incidence in Berlin was almost 190 on Thursday. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports this value for the new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week. A week ago, the incidence was about 250. Nationwide, the weekly value on Thursday was 221.

However, the infection does not provide a complete picture of the infection situation. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI – due to overburdened health authorities and because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics.
According to the RKI, 1912 new infections were reported for Berlin within one day. The total number of registered cases has increased to more than 1,050,000 since the pandemic began in spring 2020. Three more deaths were reported. According to the official figures, there have been 4,616 deaths in connection with corona infections in Berlin since the beginning of the pandemic.
