After five seasons at Bordeaux-Bègles, Alexandre Roumat is also signed with Toulouse until 2025.
Toulouse continues its market. While most of the executives, including Antoine Dupont, Cyril Baille and even Romain Ntamack, have already extended, the club crowned champion of France has provided new talent from another Top 14 club. Indeed, after formalizing the arrivals of Paul Graou, Ange Capuozzo or even Arthur Retière, the Stade Toulousain formalized through a press release the arrival of Alexandre Roumat next season. After making his professional debut in Biarritz between 2015 and 2017 and then wearing the Union Bordeaux-Bègles colors for five seasons, the son of former international Olivier Roumat has committed to the Haute-Garonne club for the next three seasons, i.e. until June 2025. Former captain of the France under-18 team, with which he won a European title in 2015, Alexandre Roumat will continue his progress in Toulouse from next summer .
Roumat: “A great pride and honor”
A signature expected for several months which is “a real human and sporting satisfaction” according to Didier Lacroix. “In addition to being an excellent element, he has a complementary profile to enrich our workforce, added the president of Stade Toulousain in a press release. This is why we are very happy with his arrival. Alexandre Roumat, meanwhile, said that “it’s really a great pride and an honor to be recruited by such an institution”. “I will have the opportunity to meet great players, which should be very rewarding,” said the 24-year-old in the same press release. I hope to be able to integrate myself quickly into this group while bringing something different. “The third line will have to deal with competition from Anthony Jelonch, Selevasio Tolofua or even Rynhardt Elstadt within the ever richer workforce made available to Ugo Mola by the leaders of Stade Toulousain.
