VIDEO. Olympic swimmer Coralie Balmy visits Toulouse for “Planète Action”
The rector of the Toulouse Academy, Mostafa Fourar, went to Bellevue High School yesterday to attend the intervention of Olympic swimmer Coralie Balmy.
Bellevue high school welcomed this Monday, May 30, one of its former students, and not the least, the Olympic swimmer Coralie Balmy. As part of the Planète Action operation, she was able to talk with high school students about the subject of sustainable development. Mostafa Fourar, rector of the Toulouse academy and Guillaume Choisy, general manager of the Adour-Garonne water agency were present.
Back on campus where her career began, Coralie Balmy taught secondary school students about her life as a high school student, her beginnings in swimming and the theme of the conference, sustainable development. The former Olympic champion has created her own association, Coco An Dlo. It develops educational tools to raise awareness and offers nature protection programs through learning to swim for children. “I want to convey the values of sport and respect for the environment,” she confides to the students.
Pupils listening and of good will. Four of them, eco-delegates, presented in turn easy-to-implement ideas to help improve the environment in the school. The planting of trees, clean steps, the installation of additional bins or even prevention. All these ideas were well received by the management of the establishment and by Coralie Balmy, “touched” and moved by their commitment. Mostafa Fourar encourages young adults in their approach: “Their role is important, it must be exercised initially within the school. It is the youth who can be our hope for changing things in the years to come. »
