Summit of Explorers returns to the Azores, but starts in Lisbon with a day dedicated to space
It is a kind of meetings of leaders, but instead of concentrated businessmen, politicians and businessmen in a world forum, they bring together some of the most remarkable explorers and scientists of today. For the third time, Portugal will host the Glex Summit and for the second consecutive year the main program will take place in São Miguel, in the Azores, between the 4th and 7th of July.

The Norwegian is one of the guests at this year’s summit and one of the names put forward this Tuesday by the organization. Ben Lamm, entrepreneur and co-founder of Colossal, a start dedicated to the development of genetics and reproductive technology, will talk about his controversial project to ‘resurrect’ or mammoth, extinct for thousands of years, ‘implanting’ intact DNA engineered into the cells of Asian elephants, the living animals that have a closest genome.
James Garvin, NASA’s science department’s first chief scientist and first chief scientist, or Rosaly chief for exploration of other planetary and volcanic names at NASA’s science department, were the founders of Expanding World.
In addition to four days in the Azores, the summit includes an initial session in Lisbon, on the 2nd of July, entirely dedicated to space exploration. Organized in conjunction with the Portuguese Space Agency, the, announced this Tuesday, meeting for the Portugal space session, expert experts from NASA and the European Space Agency, announced Manoel Vaz.
“The Glex Summit Ignition Session will take place the day after the end of the United Nations Ocean Conference, which Lisbon will host for the first time, from June 27 to July 1, thus keeping Portugal in a prominent place as a country linked to entrepreneurship and to scientific innovation, with answers and solutions for the future of preserving and exploring the planet”, emphasizes one organization.
