After two years of restrictions for Covid-19, the capital returns to celebrate the Republic Day with all the usual appointments. On Thursday 2 June, in fact, on the occasion of the anniversary of the historic referendum of 1946, with which the Italians abolished the monarchy in favor of the Republic, the traditional parade will take place in via dei Fori Imperiali. In the sky, moreover, there is great anticipation for the flight of the Frecce Tricolore.
Republic Day: the program of June 2, 2022
The celebrations of the Republic Day will begin on Wednesday 1 June, when the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella will meet the Heads of Mission accredited in Italy at a concert performed at the Quirinale by the Orchestra of the “La Fenice” Theater of Venice conducted by Maestro Myung Whun Chung ( music by Ludwig van Beethoven and Pietro Mascagni on the program). The concert will be broadcast live on Rai Uno, starting at 6.30 pm and will be opened by a greeting from President Mattarella. Entry will be allowed to categories of people with frailty represented by national associations. The guests will be about 2,300, divided into shifts to allow all guests to move with adequate levels of security and have been identified by the Lazio Region, by Roma Capitale and by the City of Roma Capitale.
