Man Shares 100kg Weight Loss Story In Health Food Pitch On Xork Tank
One man took the secret that led him on a 100kg weight loss journey and turned it into a pitch on Shark Tank Malta.
In the show, Baheddin ‘Baha’ Alturjman shared a photo of his younger person, referring to the boy as an ‘old friend’, who changed only after being introduced to his ‘second friend’ – oats.
“My life was completely different from what it is today. Since then though, I have lost 100kg with the help of oats. I discovered them in 2016 and it changed my life completely. ”
At that time, Baha’s ‘old friend’ was “always the greatest person in his family and at school,” and he had suffered his fair share of bullying in the fight against his weight.
But the change was so profound that he now wants to take that goodness of the oats and change the lives of others, which is why he called it ‘Oated’.
Just like that, foods like pizzas, waffles, and pancakes were removed from their guilt trip. Some argue that they may have even turned into healthy foods.
“I’ve always associated healthy eating with boring, tasteless foods. I always thought that being healthy was about suffering and restraint. “
“But now, I’ve started breakfast, lunch, and my favorite meals in meals that can help me achieve my health and fitness goals.”
Baha presented the sharks with a piece of Margherita that was ‘Oated’, and they were all very eager to lick the clean plate.
Although after Baha asked for an investment of € 80,000 for a 5% stake in his business, all five Sharks were reluctant to give him an agreement for the lack of a working business model. This is despite the temptation to support it given the potential in the market.
“I love pizza,” Christabelle said. “But if I had to do that, I don’t think the assessment is right. But I would invest in something if I knew I could scale it. “
“I am very interested in entering the frozen food market. But I think the idea has yet to be developed. You have to come back with the numbers. “
“I do not see any business here. I see an empty plate, so that’s good news. But I don’t see a business, just a concept, ”said Mark Weingard, who praised both the idea and the concept.
The idea of Baha did not get the support we wanted from the Sharks. But there is no doubt that his success story and the idea behind his pitch were at least commendable.
With Malta crowned as the most obese country in Europe, one can only hope that it will not be the last to see Baha and its creation.
