In the Tuileries, an ephemeral garden signed Chanel
Chanel and the gardens is a great love story. remember: in 2020, the Coco brand took over the Jardin des Plantes for the expo beauty is cultivated, which contained the manufacturing secrets of their cosmetics. The claw was not at its first attempt: this event was its 14th installation in the middle of nature. Suffice to say that she was experienced enough to squat in the prettiest park in Paname, the Tuileries.
From June 9 to 12, it is therefore near the Louvre that the brand puts down its suitcases. If, in the early 2000s, Kenzo appropriated the poppy, Chanel’s cult flower is the camellia, and more particularly the camellia japonica The Tsar. Star of the exhibition, Gabrielle Chanel’s favorite plant – and incidentally the flagship ingredient of the brand’s new N°1 beauty line – can be discovered in two greenhouses and a set of outdoor installations.
In the first space, the immersive journey invites visitors to discover this flower which, unlike its friends, does not wait for spring to bloom and prefers to bloom in winter. The second spot offers a sort of 50 shades of camellias, a summary of all the states that the plant can take. In wax, in seed, in oil or even in the form of a fleet, the camellia is not content with being pretty.
Finally, outside, we are directly embarked in the Pyrenees, without even having to leave Paris (and given the price of the trains, it’s not so bad). Inspired by the horticultural exploitation of Gaujacq, some 200 square meters of the garden imitate the hilly reliefs of the South-East. You could almost hear the cicadas singing.
