China’s ambassador to Bulgaria calls for deepening “One Belt, One Road” exchange
Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Dong Xiaojun on Monday called for deepening bilateral ties within the One Belt, One Road (BRI) initiative, Radio China reported.
Since its inception, BRI has achieved remarkable results and entered a stage of high quality development, said Dun at the 5th anniversary meeting of the Bulgarian National Association for “One Belt, One Road”.
Bulgaria is an important hub for co-operation in the Balkans under the initiative, Dong said, adding that the traditional China-Bulgaria friendship continues to expand within the BRI and the co-operation mechanism between China and Central and Eastern European countries.
He said that priority should be given to cooperation in the fields of innovation, the joint maintenance of stable global industrial chains and supply controls, as well as the implementation of in-depth and broad cultural exchange.
Through joint efforts, bilateral co-operation will be long-term, stable and comprehensive, and will be even more successful, he said.
The meeting adopted guidelines for the activities of the association in 2022-2023. In addition to organizing the conference, it will aim to strengthen cooperation in the field of agriculture, tourism, culture, science and education.
