It is to announce and prepare for this large-scale event that His Majesty Tchiffi Zié Jean Gervais, Permanent Secretary General of the Forum of Kings and Chiefs of Africa, organized a meeting on May 25 and 26 in Rome, taking advantage of the celebration of World Africa Day, in remembrance of the signing 59 years earlier of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) agreements. The organization was named after the Franco-Congolese, Her Highness Eugénie Opou, a native of the Téké kingdom.
According to the organizers, the Milan meeting aims to allow Aristocrats from Africa and Europe to discuss various themes ranging from cultural identity to sustainable development, including customs and traditions as well as institutional diplomacy. and the economic and social development of States. With regard to this last theme, the Aristocrats of Africa and Europe intend to work for the development and consolidation of traditional chiefdoms to enable them to contribute to economic, social and human development in Africa.
Gabon well represented in Rome
Gabon was well represented at the meeting in Rome preparing for the September meeting in Milan. Alongside those of the two Congos, Egypt, South Africa, Senegal, Angola, Mali and the Ivory Coast, the Gabonese delegation was led by dignitaries Gustave Bongo, Léon Paul Ngoulakia, Thierry Ayouma and Michel Ovenga. The event and cultural structure Amaya Mokini of Mrs. Philiberte Bongo, member of the Organizing Committee, coordinated the event, just like Dr. Solange Bongo, editor and writer, ensured the literary part.
La Panthère des Plateaux, Aloïse Kagoula, and her group Amaya Nguekara and the artist Noël Obandja D’Okouya were the only artists invited to represent Gabonese culture, but also to ensure the animation of the launch of the Forum.
