Bergheim caught Hallein on the wrong foot
“The Bergheimer started like a shot”, Hallein trainer Eidke Wintersteller was amazed at the opponent’s cheeky style of play. The guests often swayed the second in the table with their energetic pressing. The commitment of the Gierzinger boys was finally rewarded in the 26th minute when Omeradzic completed a fast counterattack in an exemplary manner – 0:1. “We had a corner kick just before that,” growled Wintersteller, who witnessed an open exchange of blows in the first half. Hallein’s best opportunities came from Alic and Zeljko Crnogorcevic. The first put the artificial leather over the box from a short distance, the second traffic the goal border.

Hallein’s joker fiddles
The half-time break seemed to have done the Winterteller men really good, as they came out of the catacombs much better. The initial situation was restored early in the second half when Babic, sent onto the green for Tanzberger at the start, headed in a cross from Zeljko Crnogorcevic to make it 1-1 (52′). At the latest after Alic had turned the tables (63rd), the title favorite really picked up speed. Mayr (70′), Joker Reichinger (77′, 78′) and Leitenstorfer (86′), who also came on as a substitute, gave FCB half a dozen goals. Reichinger also had bad luck with another Hallein goal. “We didn’t allow much at the back. Once Stadlbauer had to hold out for a deflected 25-metre shot. Two of Bergeheim’s chances were offside – I don’t count them,” said Wintersteller, who was overjoyed to say: “We had a very good one bench.”
