The CGT of Vaucluse is calling for a strike by social and medico-social workers in the department for Tuesday, May 31. A rally is thus planned at 10:30 a.m., boulevard Limbert, in Avignon, in front of the solidarity center near the Hôtel du Département.

The union asks in the first place the promise of revaluation by the government for the socio-educational sector. While there was talk of a salary increase of 183 euros net per month, the union says that a decree, published on April 28, ultimately involved a bonus granted for the state and hospital civil service but submitted to the vote. local authorities for the territorial public service, on which the social and medico-social workers depend.
The deliberation of the Department of Vaucluse on this first was to take place at the end of the year but the CGT is demanding its vote before July 15, as well as an increase in recruitment and replacements in view of their workload.
At the national level, the union is asking for an increase of 300 euros net per month for all workers in the medico-social sector in the public sector, the opening of places in the social sector and beds in the health sector or even the improvement of working conditions. work.
