Eurovision 2022: Sweden’s Cornelia Jakobs teasers collaborate with Sam Ryder
Cornelia finished fourth on the top list, behind Ukraine, Great Britain and Spain, which was the country’s best result since Måns Zelmerlöw won in 2015.
The Swedish star was relatively unknown a few months ago and has been pushed to star status after her participation in the singing competition, seen by over 100,000,000 people.
The Hold Me Closer singer has just started her summer tour and will perform in the UK later this year.
Fortunately, she managed to find a moment to talk to Metro.co.uk about her dream duets and whether she would ever want to compete in Eurovision again.
It turns out that she would love to collaborate more with Space Man singer Sam, who won the hearts of the nation with her fantastic performance earlier this month.
She said, ‘Yes, we talked about it. Sam is such a darling It was super fun to do that little duet. It was quite spontaneous in the hotel lobby.
“But we said that if he comes to Sweden, we should either have a show together or we write something more. We definitely talked about it.
Cornelia added: “It would be so much fun.”
As for what she thinks of Britain’s newest national treasure, she called him “so professional” and “very charismatic”.
Cornelia continued: ‘You can really say that he likes to stand on a stage and the song is super nice. It’s almost an Elton John vibe that’s completely my alley … and like a little bit of Oasis in the Middle Eight.
‘I really liked it. I’ve been stuck in my head for weeks now!
She said she would also love collaborating with Moonlight, whose glam rock team blew off all of Europe in 2021.
Cornelia would not rule out participating in the singing competition again, without limitation on the number of times someone can represent their country.
‘I told my mother that I missed it so much and that I want to do it again. And she was like, “Oh, God, give us a break Cornelia we need to breathe”.
“They were more nervous than I was!”
But she is not sure that she would like to go through the Swedish selection process, Melodifestivalen, again.
‘Yes, I would have to go through the Melodifestivalen and win again, which does not really happen.
“If there was a ticket to go straight there, I would definitely just take it and go for it again. I can not wait to see all the Eurovision fans in the audience on tour.
‘We’ll see. I can tell you that I miss Eurovision already. With that said, we will see what the future has to offer, she teased.
