Nations League: learn about Portugal’s data, controls and squads
Goalkeeper Rui Silva was called up to replace José Sá, who was injured, in Portugal’s squad for the games in group 2 of the League of Nations A, the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) reported this Tuesday.
“Fernando Santos called up Rui Silva for the four games in Portugal for Group 2 of the League of Nations. The Real Betis goalkeeper replaces José Sá, who was considered unfit by the FPF’s Health and Performance Unit.
José Sá started injured in the last game of the season in the English League, with the Wolverhampton goalkeeper leaving at half-time for Sunday’s match in which the team lost at Anfield Road to Liverpool (3-1).
In Group 2 of League A, Portugal will face:
- Spainon June 2, in Seville;
- Switzerlandon June 5, in Alvalade;
- Czech Republic, on June 9, in Alvalade;
- Switzerlandon June 12, in Geneva;
After these four games, the formation of the corners fulfills the last two meetings on the 24th and 27th of September, the first in the Czech Republic and the second in Braga, against the Spanish.
The formation of the corners, winner of the first edition of the League of Nations, in 2019, need to win the edition grouping to reach the final four of the third third, with the second being won by France, in a final with Spain, in 2021.
ONE Nations League finals takes place from June 14th to 18th, 2022with winners of the four groups of League A, with the last ones of each of the groups going down to League B.
