TLast Sunday, the 5th edition of the contemporary art fair ended – ARC Lisbonorganized by IFEMA Madrid and the Lisbon City Council, with around 11 thousand people and the presence of 470 artists.

According to the organization, this edition, which took place online, ended with “a positive balance and a good level of sales”. The event, held at Cordoaria Nacional, features representation from 14 countries, 190 professional collectors and 65 national and international galleries, selected by the Organizing Committee and the teams of curators from the different sections.

ARCO Lisbon’s objective was to have two main sections, namely ‘Opening in Focus’, which I outline with the participation of galleries from the African continent, and ‘Lisbon’, focused on young galleries, new content and investigations.

Some galleries debuted for the first time, such as Elvira González, Galeria 111, Galería de las Misiones, Heinrich Ehrhardt, Rosa Santos or the Austrian galleries Lukas Feichtner Galerie and Zeller Van Almsick. These are joined by others of renown, such as Cristina Guerra Contemporary Art, Fernando Santos, Pedro Cera, Pedro Oliveira, Vera Cortês.

International galleries were also part of this event, such as Alarcón Criador, Greengrassi, Helga de Alvear, Juana de Aizpuru, Krinzinger and Leandro Navarro.

ArtsLibris was present with 31 national and international exhibitors at Torreão Nascente da Cordoaria – a space with publications by contemporary artists, photobooks, thought, self-editing and digital publications, with free access. It also had a place for its presentations and debates, the Speakers’ Corner, where as participating editors presented as editors of publications and lines.
