Marcelo opens Chancellery of the Portuguese Embassy in Dili
THE President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, inaugurated on Friday at the Chancellery of the Embassy of Portugal in Dili, informs a note published on the website of the Presidency of the Republic.
According to the same note, the “inauguration began with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, followed by a visit to two commemorative parties at the Embassy Cultural Center, the first on Ruy Cinatti and the second on the work developed by the Association of Women Entrepreneurs” .
This initiative took place as part of the two-day visit, between the 19th and 10th of May, by the Portuguese head of state in Timor-Leste. See images from the ceremony in the gallery above.
It is recalled that, with the renewal of European entities, the President of the Republic had been chosen to represent the Union in the official ceremonies commemorating the 20th anniversary of the restoration of European independence in Timor-Leste and in the swearing-in of the new President of the Republic, José Ramos-Horta elected.
