San Marino: San Marino RTV’s response to the EBU provisions on the 6 Eurovision 2022 juries
The spirits do not calm down after the measures taken by EBU on 6 national juries disqualified by Eurovision 2022. After the official EBU statement released yesterday 19 May, a response from San Marino RTV.
The San Marino broadcaster complains that it was not aware of the EBU press release published yesterday, despite being an active part of the pan-European television consortium.
San Marino RTV, despite having always and only interfaced with EBU since the beginning of the affair, considers this unilateral intervention by EBU serious both in terms and in substance.
It is revealed that in the face of the clarifications requested by San Marino TV, EBU has not confirmed that the suspicions of voting for irregularities are 100% founded.
When asked if EBU had realized that a group of countries from the second semifinal would have apparently exchanged 12, 8, 7 and 6 the answer was no. When asked why the votes canceled by San Marino and the other 5 suspected countries they were all given to Sweden (to which 72 points were shot) and Australia (60 points for her) the answer was because “they had the best songs”.

Equally unclear is how San Marino’s 12 points in the final were attributed to Spain and not to Italy. Also in this case EBU did not want (or was able) to provide.
In this review from these observations, San Marino RTV reaffirms its full cooperation with EBU and its trust in the institutions responsible for overseeing the proper functioning of Eurovision.
