Avignon: high-end tourism at the Hôtel des Monnaies
The city of Avignon cedes the Hotel des Monnaies which faces the Palace of the Popes. E-hotels-Lyonspecializing in top-of-the-range, will extend in this building with high heritage value, 40 themed rooms as well as 20 rooms in the adjoining building, the Niel hotel, which overlooks the back, on the rue de la Balance.
This space acquired for €2.3 million offers nearly 1,663 m2 usable on four levels closed for 15 years, since the departure of the conservatory of music and dance transferred to Grand Avignon and to the former intramural court. At that time, when the neighboring listed building of the Banque de France fell into the municipal fold to become a restaurant space, several hotel, restaurant and cultural projects had emerged in vain in this listed building from 1619 and in the many architectural constraints.
About twenty rooms on Place des Corps-Saints
The É-hôtels-Lyon group, born seven years ago and headed by Laurent-Marcel Matray, will soon have a 7and establishment in Lyon and one in Toulon. He also buys back Citadis, 33 place des Corps-Saints, closed for many years and which is located further south in the intramuros. This former army administrative building will open to around twenty rooms. The adjoining Saint-Michel chapel, property of the City, will be rented to him with a long-term lease for 50 annual installments of €2,500. The investor will reopen, through the hotel, its link with the Célestins church, which will retain its vocation as a space for cultural exhibitions.
