Slovakia as a victim of Matovič ‘s fight with Sulík – Comments and glosses – Opinions
Perhaps the required government in Europe has not been disputed by anti-inflationary social aid like ours. They hadn’t talked about her anywhere for so long. They all know very well that an agreement is necessary. The faster, the better for people. Conflicting views come together and any personal animosities go sideways.

Igor Matovič and Richard Sulík
In our country, it is exactly the opposite. Originally, social assistance was to be approved in mid-April. It’s mid-May and people are still waiting in vain. The increase in prices is gaining momentum every week. Even after the agreements at the coalition councils, new comments and counter-proposals are still coming. completely unnecessary. Finally, the package is literally re-scratched and approved by the National Council within 24 hours. It’s actually a classic. Coalition deputies without grumbling vote against the party leaders decisively.
And it is these leaders who are the reason it is. In particular, Igor Matovič and Richard Sulík behave like two unteachable runaway roosters. The stubbornness of the Minister of Finance is notorious, but the Minister of Economy can always provoke and prevent him in due time. Even now, no matter what Matovic is like, it’s just not done that way – to come up with a counter-proposal to help after “funus”. The Saxons should have reacted sooner. The fire is on the roof again, the coalition once again just before the break-up.
At the same time, the dispute is not about a single aid. They have everyone’s will. Although the package miserable situation of the socially weakest does not actually solve. The main battle is up to who will pay for it all. This year, the package is to cost 175 million euros, next year 1.2 billion. It’s not a small amount of money. Matovic wants to transfer the great burden to cities and towns. But they are rioting. They turn every euro after the price increase. Matovic’s words that “money is much better stored in the family’s wallet than in the mayor’s money box” is a cunning lie. Because local governments will have no choice but to increase taxes and fees or radically reduce services, which will be paid for by families with children.
The stubbornness of the Minister of Finance is notorious, but the Minister of Economy can always provoke and prevent him in due time.
A much better solution is to tax monopolies and oligopolies (eg Russian oil in Slovnaft). During the pandemic and the Russian aggression in Ukraine, he and other large companies greased their pockets nicely. It would therefore be fair for them to share those in need. SaS protests. After all, it is a party advocating big business (lastly one financial group in healthcare). However, if a common language was found between Sulík and Matovič, the social one eventually became more indebted. Will it be a better solution?
Until recently, the rivalry between Matovič and Sulík was able to pacify Prime Minister Eduard Heger. Even quite a few. After all, it is the mandatory role of the Prime Minister. Recently, however, he has neglected to neglect them. He has paid too much attention to international issues lately.
Knowledge or interviews for major world media blinded him a bit. But praise abroad does not automatically mean success at home. Homework must be written honestly. Heger forgot that his fate did not depend on foreign success, but only on how Matovič and Sulík managed it. If I let them go, they’ll turn it upside down.
