The curtain has fallen for days onEurovision Song Contest 2022but we continue to talk about the Turin festival which saw the victory of Ukraine with the Kalush Orchestra. First the news of the hacker attacks Russians announced and thwarted, then that of irregularities recorded in the voting.
Eurovision 2022, irregularities in voting
Voting for the final of theEurovision 2022 they recorded irregularities. This was announced by the EBU, the body that supervises the creation of Eurovision, with a note released the day after the closure of the voting operations which sanctioned the triumph of Ukraine.
The EBU explains that the data analysis led to the processing of results after the second general rehearsals of the second semifinal and final of Eurovision 2022. The regularity of the Kalush Orchestra’s victory is not questioned, the irregularities recorded have only led to a partial recount.
Irregularities were found in the votes cast by the jurieswhich are collected the evening before the live television broadcast of each evening, when the entire show is rehearsed in advance, broadcast live in a closed circuit with the various TVs.
Eurovision, 2022, suspicion of jury votes from six countries
The EBU found that following the anomalies were cancel some preferences expressed by the juries and new results were generated for each of the six countries involved.
The countries under accusation are the six that had appeared without data in the summary of the votes published on the Eurovision website in the very first hours: this is Azerbaijan, Georgia, Montenegro, Romania, Poland and San Marino.

Eurovision 2022: the reactions of the accused countries
With an official note, the public television of Montenegro asked EBU and claimed that it had not violated any of the rules provided for by the regulation. Romania’s public television did the same, claiming that their Ukraine 12 points have been awarded to Moldova, while now they are all awarded.
Both Georgian and Azerbaijani TV reported that, contrary to what happened during the final, their 12 points had been awarded to Ukraine and not to the United Kingdom. From Poland and San Marino no comments arrived.
Eurovision, perhaps an agreement to exchange points
From the Belgian TV VRT came one possible explanation, all to be ascertained, for the irregularities recorded in the Eurovision voting. The EBU decided to replace the judges’ votes deemed so after having had evidence of a illicit agreement between the TV stations involved to award each other points.
