Casper Ruud started the ATP 250 tournament in Geneva without any problems: The Norwegian, who was second seeded, beat Benoit Paire confidently in round two 6: 3 and 6: 1. In the quarterfinals he will face Thanasi Kokkinakis. The Australian beat Federico Delbonis 1-6, 7-5 and 7-5.
The number three of the tournament, Denis Shapovalov, suffered a setback immediately before the French Open. The Canadian lost to Ilya Ivashka in the last game of the day 4:6, 7:6 (2) and 3:6. Ivashka now meets Joao Sousa.
With Dominic Thiem and Daniil Medvedev, the two Grand Slam winners participating in the tournament had to say goodbye early on. Thiem lost to Marco Cecchinato in two rounds, Medvedev was also not allowed to win a set against Richard Gasquet.
