The University of San Marino will present design and crafts projects involving glass, wood and more during the Milan Show
The University of the Republic of San Marino will exhibit the results of two laboratories carried out in the framework of the degree course in Design in conjunction with the Salone del Mobile scheduled in Milan at the beginning of June, also curating a series of initiatives hosted by some venues. of the district of via Eustachi, in the Porta Venezia area, a historic area with traditional and characterized activities such as wineries, art galleries, shops and craft shops. “Under the title ‘Rionale’, we decided to set up an exhibition space in via Antonio Stoppani 17 as if it were an indoor market, in fact, dedicated to thoughts of Design, craftsmanship, what is materially done with the hands” , explains teacher Massimo Barbierato. “As part of the so-called ‘Fuori Salone’, we have chosen to place ourselves at a distance from the classic routines of the festival to immerse ourselves, instead, in the dimension of a neighborhood that lends itself well to our desire to work with the venue. We will do this by meeting, among other things, associations and schools ”. A series of exhibitions and events are scheduled in the space in via Stoppani that will include, among other things, blown glass works made with new techniques in collaboration with the Nasonmoretti furnace of Murano and wooden products developed by the students of the University of San Marino. Featuring works poised between and experimental practices, the space will also involve a series of performances by University professors: in addition to a glass blowing workshop with Barbierato and Stefano Parise, some meetings with the architect and musical composer are scheduled. Lorenzo Palmeri, the expert in history and criticism of industrial design Elena Brigi, the graphic studios of Milan FM and Tomo Tomo. “We will work with the ward, we will communicate with the ward, we will listen to the sounds of the ward”. The activities will also develop outside the exhibition space with the presentation, in five rooms of the area, of as many products made by the students of the University of San Marino in the field of food design. The exhibition will be open from 7 to 10 June from 12 to 21 and is organized in collaboration with Anam Comunicazione, an agency involved in ambitions such as design, art, culture and food and wine.
