Saint Girons. The Toulouse FH dictates its law
They had come to the pink city to experience a life-size test, that’s what they experienced, but maybe not as they expected. Faced with Toulousaines determined to make their own change, the Ariégeoises fell on stronger than them on Saturday evening.
From the start, the locals take their opponent of the day by the throat, imposing a high tempo that the visitors fail to follow (5-1, 4th). After a complex start, the Orange and Black try to react, but, at the turn of an action, they lose their captain Mathilde Durrieu, excluded but especially injured in the knee (9-5, 12th). This moment of hesitation in the Couseran ranks was quickly exploited by the TFH which resumed its march forward (12-6, 15th). The visitors begin a movement of revolt, which allows them to reduce the gap a little, but it will grow again before the break, and it is a TFH in full control who returns to the locker room (23-16) .
The resumption of play sees the fight intensify. The SGHBC bends but does not break, and tries by all means to reduce the bill. For their part, the Roses of the TFH do not allow themselves to be destabilized (29-22, 45th). But the physical resources are running out, in the Saint-Gironnais ranks, and the Couserannaises end up no longer keeping up with the tempo imposed by the Toulousaines. The TFH ended the meeting by crushing the accelerator, defeated on the Place des Saint-Gironnaises which did not have the weapons to stop the pink waves. The TFH therefore finally won 40-25 at the end of a much better controlled and successful game.
Nevertheless, this fairly dry defeat does not detract from the quality of the course achieved by this group from Saint-Girons, and simply shows its current limits. There remains one last meeting, next week in Buffelan, to allow this group to end its season with a victory, in front of its public, and to achieve the best performance of the club at this level.
