Another very successful purple junior weekend
U12 gets their fourth win in five games against Gneis
Last Friday, the fifth game in the second half of the season for our U12s was on the artificial turf in Maxglan. This time, USK Gneis was welcomed as an opponent on the home artificial turf.
The team was changed in five positions compared to the SV Grödig game in the previous week in order to rotate the positions and use players with less playing time from the start.
The lads fought great, but the usual flow of play was a little lacking due to the many conversions. The half-time score was 2-0 anyway.
In the second half it got more ambitious again and so some great scoring chances were created. In the end it was a 2-0 home win, the fourth win in five games!
U8 takes second place in Gnigl
Florian Selner and Fathi Baratli’s under-8s took second place in the tournament of the 1. SSK 1919 in Gnigl. In addition to Austria and host SSK, Grünau, Anif and Fortuna Salzburg (girls’ team) were also represented. “The level was really good,” says Flo Selner, praising the teams and adding: “Almost 100 spectators, great weather – ideal”.
U7 ranks 1st and 2nd in Grünau
On a sunny Saturday morning, ten U7 teams faced each other on the main square in Wals Grünau. It should be an extremely successful tournament, where our two teams should meet in the final. Our two teams only lost one game in nine games, each against the other Austrian team, and faced each other in the final. In this game, Team VIOLET beat Team WHITE by a hair’s breadth 1:0.
Reason to celebrate, everyone was visibly proud to have provided the most successful U7 that day. Supervisor Thomas Pritz was of course very satisfied with the result: “A nice tournament day. I wish us all a lot of fun and joy in following the development of our children as part of a professional and sporting education. It always reminds me of what Wayne Rooney said as a viewer about his eight-year-old son: ‘This is a nice weekend activity. The boy is only eight, so you can’t tell how talented he is. I have great memories of tournaments like this when I was a kid. The most important thing is that the children at that age have fun playing.’”
Participating teams: SV Wals Grünau, Heeres SV Wals, SAK 1914, USK Gneis and Austria Salzburg with two teams.
WHITE team players: Erol, Ibrahim, Luca, Luana; Players Team VIOLET: Jonathan, Kim, Noah-Elia
U11 finishes second in Grünau
Our U11 was in action in Grünau on Friday after victories against SAK, Gneis and organizer Wals-Grünau, the boys around coach Beni Citaku played for the tournament victory in the last game against RB. In a high-class game where it went up and down, you had to admit defeat 2:1. “It ended up being a bit unfortunate, but I’m very happy with the performance of my team,” coach Beni Citaku summed up both goals against being unsustainable.
U16 wins the top game
Our U-16 team currently stands out with good games and dominance in their league. In the top game of the round, they beat second-placed SG Lungau 4:2 and thus gained a lead of points.
In addition to the positive result, it is worth noting how it came about. With their passing game and their combinations, they create a variety of scoring chances. The coaching duo Javorovic-Gashi can be very satisfied. The team is facing a new working week and a home game against SG Thalgau (Saturday, 10 a.m., Maxglan).
U10 wins tournament in Liefering
This week’s U10 tournament was held at Lieferinger SV. Austria traveled to Liefering with a full squad and highly motivated players. There they won the first game after initial difficulties with 4:1. After that, there was an exciting game against Grödig, in which they drew 1:1. In the last game you could shine again with a 3:0 victory. The better goal difference ended up taking first place. Fun is much more important on the screen and the boys from the U10s had that.
U9 shines with first and second place
Last Sunday, our U9 kicker confidently introduced the first two places in the SFV home tournament in the Max Aicher Stadium with two equal teams.
Additional motivation this time may have been the one-off process. All five participating teams were called to the stadium and welcomed to the applause of parents and spectators in the grandstand.
The initial situation before the last game could not have been more exciting. Both teams were at the top with nine points each and the same goal difference. After a highly exciting final, our A team won 1:0.
Respect and thanks also to our guests, who stayed until the end of the tournament and once again made it possible for the children to say goodbye with trophies for each individual in front of the enthusiastic audience.
The team of trainers and our boys also show their unique support from all the helpers who made this home tournament an experience for young and old.
