Gorillas launches campaign ‘Wat Nederland Wil’ – an ode to the ordering behavior of the Dutch in different cities
Amsterdam, May 16, 2022 – On-demand delivery service Gorillas launches a campaign called “What the Netherlands Wants”. With this milestone, we look back at the ordering behavior of the Dutch and the eating habits of the customers. In various neighborhoods in Amsterdam, large flyers appear with provocative texts, exposing the eating habits of the neighbourhood.
The campaign, which will run in Amsterdam from 17 May, is a publication on the purchases and habits of Amsterdam customers.
For example, the “Real hotshots live in the Baarsjes”, where Jumbo’s ginger shots are very popular. These are ordered four times as many than in Oud-Zuid. Nieuw-West often reaches for the bottle: 160% more baby products are sold than in Oud-West. It is also striking that 1.5 times more toilet paper is sold in the Center of Amsterdam than in Watergraafsmeer.
The ordering behavior of other cities is also exposed via social media and a TV commercial. Most ‘slippers’ are made in Groningen: twice as many bananas and condoms are sold there than in Utrecht. In Groningen they also like to order 133% more cola than The Hague. In addition, Rotterdam is ‘free range’: with 35,923 eggs they order 3.7x more eggs than Groningen.
This is what Dutch consumers mainly do:
- Avocado, banana, coca cola zero, local Lagerweij and ginger shots are among the products in the app
- 80% of Gorillas top users in the Netherlands have ordered fruit or vegetables in the past month
The commercial is here to see.
