Video: Limoges/Monaco or the summary of a completely crazy match!
The public at the Palais des Sports de Beaublanc was treated to a memorable match between Limoges and Monaco, and a final with twists and turns as very rarely happens.
-84-79 for Limoges 1’35 from the end on a three-pointer from Nicolas Lang.
– In just over a minute, Monaco scored 9 points with a 1+1 from Donatas Motiejunas, a three-point from Léo Westermann and another from Mike James. 84-88. There are 32 seconds left. Is the match folded?
-Not at all. Demonte Harper and Hugo Invernizzi both miss their attempt at more than 6.75m. But Nicolas Lang succeeded in his. 87-88. 3 seconds 2 to play.
-Two seconds from the buzzer, Nico Lang made a mistake. Dwayne Bacon only met one of the 87-89 pitches. It’s Will Thomas’ turn to make a mistake… and Demonte Harper to convert only one of the two shots. 88-88. 2 seconds to play.
-Incredible… Hugo Invernizzi in turn errs -involuntarily- on the offensive rebound and Léo Westermann in turn misses one of his two free throws. 88-89. Nicolas Lang recovers the ball and from his camp launches a missile which ends its trajectory on the circle.
Léo Westermann (16 points at 5/6 three-point, 4 assists) had an MVP match, but it was the Limougeauds who were heroic, and who lost a 31-10 to the Monegasques in the third quarter- time, around Demonter Harper (22 points) and Nicolas Lang (18). The Roca Team missed half of its free throws (14/28), but was able to regain all its defensive ardor in the money time and was also able to count on a Mike James with 21 points and 11 assists.
Seven teams have already reserved their places in the playoffs. The last is distributed between Cholet, Le Mans and Nanterre.
