Toulouse. European Night of Museums: Events not to be missed
Alone, with friends, with family, for an evening, the Night of Museums is an opportunity to discover in a different way, in a nocturnal atmosphere, the extremely varied collections housed in Toulouse museums.
A small selection of proposals not to be missed that evening:
• La Nuit de la Force at the Saint-Raymond Museum: The Roman Empire strikes back at the Toulouse Archeology Museum where for one night, History and fiction will meet in a daring cross-over, with a number of unusual activities: demonstrations of lightsaber fights (sports fights, improvised choreographed fights, public initiation) or even cosplays.
• A Night of the Samurai at the Georges-Labit Museum, again with unusual activities around martial arts, a screening of a genre film…
• At the Galerie Le Château d’Eau, you can take a pose to take part in the next exhibition by the photographer, Laurent Lafolie, in the afternoon and take a guided tour by the artist of his works currently installed on the picture rails.
At 9 p.m., time for the news with Témoignages d’Ukraine: screening of an interview with Kateryna Radchenko, president of the Photo Days Odessa festival, followed by a testimonial meeting with Adrienne Surprenant and Chloé Sharrock, photojournalists from the Myop agency.
• The Castelet of the former Saint-Michel prison offers a light and dance show by the Compagnie Millimétrée and unveils the Hypercube installation, highlighted in the courtyard by a visual and poetic journey.
• The Musée des Abattoirs gives carte blanche to PRIDE Toulouse as part of the diversity festival. The evening is also musical with, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., a DJ set on the forecourt and a Latin music concert at the back of the museum.
Scientific culture is also on the agenda with the participation of the Museum, the Quai des Savoirs, the Cité de l’Espace and L’Envol des Pionniers.
Saturday, May 14, we enter the museum to spend an unusual, festive and fun evening.
