In Rome the Festival of the Small Municipalities of Lazio. Zingaretti: “With them, the Region is more competitive”
ROME – The Festival of the Small Municipalities of Lazio. In the stands set up in the green area in the heart of Rome, 65 local administrations show the riches of the territory until tomorrow, from food and wine to the landscape, from tourism to crafts. The event is supported by the Lazio region in partnership with Legambiente Lazio, Slow Foodand the participation of Municipality of Rome And Arsiale.
“We must continue to invest in the strength of the small Lazio players for to make our region stronger and more competitive all together“, Said the president of the Lazio Region, Nicola Zingaretti, inaugurating the party. “And Lazio has understood this for some time and we have invested a lot in the extraordinary potential of the small municipalities of our territory. In fact, this festival has reached its fifth edition, and from the very beginning it has been a success. Furthermore, in Lazio we have set up an ad hoc office and financed a tender for small municipalities for three consecutive years with 12 million euros and 301 funded projects“.
“Now we want to do even more thanks to the resources of European programming and those of the Pnrr. A tool that will have a extraordinary impact on the economic, social and productive growth of our regionresources that will support us in continuing to create too a more just, more balanced development model, more respectful of the Earth and capable of enhancing the enormous heritage of beauty, knowledge and landscapes preserved in the internal areas and especially in the smaller municipalities ”, concluded Zingaretti.
PETRINI (SLOW FOOD): “DO NOT CONTRACT INNOVATION AND TRADITION”
“If we want to regenerate the villages we must overcome the contrast between innovation and tradition, because this contrast relegates us to a nostalgic and marginal dimension. True innovation exists when a tradition is successful and the good practices they have told us in recent days in Rome demonstrate it. We are the expression of an innovation front that has firm roots in the territories and who is aware that the present heritage is not only still alive but can dare to have widespread positive effects“, he said Carlo Petrinifounder of Slow Food.
“The most innovative and revolutionary subject that can implement a true lasting innovation are communities, because they are based on that emotional security that can carry out a real change of paradigm. Communities are centered on joy and happiness and can be both the tool for change and the goal of a new sociability – added Petrini – And with these we must face the long period of agroecological transition that awaits us. They are the producers of the Earth Markets and Small Municipalities of Lazio that we will meet in these days in Villa Borghese in an event that we have managed to create thanks to the collaboration with the Lazio Region, Arsial, the Municipality of Rome and Legambiente, as well as local Slow Food volunteers ”, he added.
NAPPINI (SLOW FOOD): “AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIONS ARE CENTRAL”
“Villages without agriculture risk becoming inauthentic places: empty sets, beautiful to look at but to be enjoyed only in a playful and recreational way, territories that lack identity because there are no communities linked to food production “, underlined Barbara Nappini, president of Slow Food Italy. “When, on the other hand, how the countries revive, from an economic point of view, agricultural production returns to be central, the good practices that come socially from Lazio, with the community of the Mosciarella chestnut of Capranica Prenestinawhich we will soon welcome among the Slow Food Presidia, e the olive cultivars and the Priverno chiacchietelliformer Presidium “.
AVENALI (SMALL MUNICIPALITIES IN THE LAZIO REGION): “BEWARE OF LOCAL REALITIES”
“The Festival of the Small Municipalities of Lazio is not a simple celebration, but it is also an important tool to share and make known to everyone, the central elements of the policies that the Lazio Region is implementing in favor of these local realities, such as the last arrived, the a 3 million euro tender for the purchase of electric school buses. The initiative represents a showcase of sustainability, of which the small Municipalities components with enormous enthusiasm, because with there the possibility of showing themselves with the possibility of showing pride in the big city but also of teaming up with others and same Region ”, he declared Christian Avenaliresponsible for Small Municipalities of the Lazio Region.
“We strongly want these municipalities not only not to disappear by depopulating – added Avenali -, but that they are increasingly known and valued, because their stories, their environment, their food and wine, their communities are unique and it is precisely here that the idea of a country and a region that we need today to build the future is concentrated. I thank President Nicola Zingaretti for the intuition and perseverance he had in pushing in this direction, and we will not stop but we will move forward on innovation and ecological transitionfocusing on the opportunities that the PNRR presents us, such as the construction of energy communities in small municipalities with a series of pilot projects already in place “.
