Toulouse. The new Petit Tou is in stores!
The launch of the 14th Petit Tou took place on Saturday at Place du Capitole. Concerts and distribution of the Toulouse tips guide were on the program. Nearly 100,000 copies left the printer. Le Petit Tou is this little pocket-sized guide that tourists and Toulouse residents like to leaf through. They unearth a good address there, whether for lunch, a drink or to buy some clothes. “I use it a lot when I’m walking around town to go to the right places,” says Shan, a Japanese student. “We did not know, but we will leaf through it with interest”, discovers Khadija, from Toulouse. “Music has given us”. Because all afternoon, the singers Ritza, Achill or Willy William followed one another on stage.
The 50,000 visitors over the day were also able to stroll around the stands of some traders. Romain Peroz, co-manager of the Miss in bulk, motivated his coming: “Today we are reaching a lot of students, who are a fairly ecological generation and therefore inclined towards bulk.”
“Le Petit Tou is like Ch’ti in Lille”, exclaims a passer-by at the sight of the organization’s red flags. These guides have one thing in common: they are produced by business school students. In Toulouse, it is at TBS (Toulouse Business School) that students have imagined it for 14 years. “Volunteers go anonymously to stores, test, pay for their purchases. And if they like it, they show up and write the review,” explains Alizée Chabal, president of the issuing association. 70 volunteers were mobilized for the day. A thousand establishments were tested for this 2022 edition, and 350 were excluded from the final selection. The printing and distribution this Saturday represents for Alizée Chabal “the consecration”. She and a few other students have been working full-time on the project since January. 100,000 copies were printed. If you couldn’t pick up yours on Saturday, don’t worry. They are now available free of charge at the tourist office and in partner stores, but also online.
