Toulouse. Arthur Cazaux is back in the big yard
Away from the international circuit between November and March due to pubalgia, the Stade Toulousain player, 308th in the world, will be on the track next week at Porte d’Auteuil.
“Yes, so it was in the back of my mind. But the competition was going to be quite rough. There were a lot of contenders, especially a lot of young people who were coming.” Finally, this Tuesday, Arthur Cazaux (19) got the good news: he is indeed one of the nine French players who have received an invitation for the “qualified” Roland-Garros who start next Monday. “Given my ranking, I still had good hopes of having this precious sesame. Despite everything, you never know. Nothing is certain in advance. In any case, I thank the French Federation and, as always, I will give the best of myself on the court”, insists the Stade Toulousain player, 308th in the world, invited last year in the final table (defeat in the first round in four sets).
“Unfortunately, I’m used to injuries”
However, before being able to return to Porte d’Auteuil, the Stadiste will have to regain all his physical means in recent months after pubalgia appeared in November. “Unfortunately, I am used to injuries. I have already had fractures and tears. But I had never had pubalgia. In general, it affects footballers more”, indicates the native of Montpellier, cut in his tracks at the beginning of November during the Challenger de Roanne after an elimination in the quarters.
A forced rest which made him notably miss the Interclubs of Pro A at the end of retiring his teammates touched the Grail. “This competition really understands me at heart. Nevertheless, I still had fun encouraging my friends at the edge of the field. We really have a great group. I really hope to be able to be part of the next edition”, underlines the one who returned to the pro circuit in March.
“I am quite confident in my feelings”
Certainly, physically and morally, the Stadiste had difficult times. But he seems on the right track. “It was frustrating because I was able to train, then I had to stop because of this pubalgia. Touch wood, everything has been better for a month and a half. I feel quite sure in my feelings. I don’t I’m more apprehensive. Lately, I’ve lost some hard-fought matches on the Challenger circuit. I know that I don’t miss much to clear a level, “assures Arthur, who arrived in the capital on Wednesday.
