Hungary is helping with 400,000 quick tests
Over the weekend, 400,000 antigen rapid tests will be sent by Hungary to Somalia and the Philippines – the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade will present in a video shared on his Facebook page.
The area of Péter Szijjártó said that there are many in the world where the coronavirus epidemic is even more challenging than before.
He recalled that Hungary had already sent rapid tests to countries in trouble: Moldova, northern Macedonia and Montenegro. Several countries have asked Hungary for similar help, so 300,000 antigen rapid tests are now being sent to the Philippines and 100,000 to Somalia, the ministry chief said.
“The Philippines is one of our most important partners in Asia, as the Catholic community of the continent lives there, and this common parallel between the Philippines and Hungary has always been an important basis for cooperation, which is why we are always important to them,” said Péter Szijjártó.
He added that Somalia is facing a serious wave of terror and that in order to be able to overcome security challenges, Hungary will at least help deal with the epidemic.
We hope that this will ensure that the fight against the pandemic in these two countries can be more successful, said Péter Szijjártó.
