OM, Monaco, Nice, Rennes … Who plays what in the race for Europe, two days to go
OM, Monaco, Nice, Rennes and Strasbourg are in competition for European places, two days before the end of Ligue 1. The Marseille club is well placed to finish 2nd.
We see it a little clearer. After the staggered meetings of Wednesday evening, the contenders for Europe now have the same number of matches two days before the end of the season in Ligue 1. And with the surprise 2-1 defeat of Stade Rennais against FC Nantes, combined with OGC Nice’s 4-2 victory against AS Saint-Étienne, the situation began to settle down. Some qualifications can be recorded on the evening of this Saturday, May 14.
As a reminder, knowing that FC Nantes has won the first of two French tickets for the group stage of the Europa League thanks to its victory in the Coupe de France, the European qualifications by the championship are distributed as follows:
► 1st: Champions League group stage
► 2nd: Champions League group stage
► 3rd: Champions League third qualifying round
► 4th: Europa League group stage
► 5th: Europa League Conference play-offs
What can be done this Saturday
Before the start of the 37th day, only the first place is untouchable, Paris Saint-Germain having already been crowned champion of France. For the rest of the top 5, everything can still move. In the event of a tie, only Rennes are clearly favored by their overall goal difference (+40). The other clubs come between +23 and +17.
