Covid-19: Monaco lifts the obligation to wear a mask indoors
Wearing a mask will therefore no longer be compulsory, both for staff and for visitors, in shops and other closed places open to the public in the Principality.
However, wearing a mask remains compulsory in health establishments, accommodation facilities for the elderly, as well as in public transport, taxis and large discount vehicles, for anyone over the age of 5. .
In addition, the use of the mask remains strongly recommended in closed places for people at risk or during a large gathering.
Depending on the evolution of the health situation, the Prince’s Government may adapt the health system.
The National Council welcomes “a major relaxation measure towards a return to normal life”
The National Council welcomed the announcement of the measure in a press release: “The elected officials would like to once again salute the individual and collective efforts made over the past 2 years by Monegasques, Residents and Employees. The Covid-19 has now moved to a stage which no longer requires the same level of restrictive health measures. Of course, everyone will have to continue to show individual responsibility and common sense.
All the families of Monegasques and Residents, shopkeepers, employees and all economic players will finally be able to return to normal life and contribute, without lag in relation to the measures of neighboring countries, to the full relaunch of our economic”.
