Marjorie Taylor Greene Responds to Decades-Old Tweet by Dr. Oz and tells him to “come home” from his 2012 trip to Switzerland.
Twitter users were stunned after Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene responded to a decades-old tweet by Dr. Mehmet Oz had replied, demanding that the doctor-turned-politician “return home” from Switzerland “as soon as possible”.
In fact, Dr. Oz home about 10 years ago. The tweet dates back to 2012 when he was in Davos for this year’s World Economic Forum.
“Having a wonderful time at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland,” wrote the TV doctor on January 26, 2012. “Such a beautiful country.”
Ten years later, Ms. Greene was outraged.
“What are you doing there?” demanded the Republican from Georgia. “Yes, Switzerland is a beautiful country, but joining the Economic Forum is 100% AGAINST America First. You should get on a plane and return home as soon as possible.”
Observers of the one-way street were at a loss.
“Does she know the tweet was from Oz [from] 2012?” tweeted Ron Filipkowski, a former federal prosecutor and political commentator, attaches a screenshot of the long-delayed tweet.
Minutes later it was gone.
“Obviously she hasn’t [know]’ wrote Mr. Filipkowski. “Because she already deleted it. However, screenshots are forever.”
Others were just as confused.
“I’m really curious as to HOW she made that mistake,” said one reader wrote. “It’s not like you can accidentally stumble upon a tweet from ten years ago. You’ll have to dig hard to find this.”
“To be fair, Marjorie thinks we’re currently living in 1942,” another pointed out.
“I too pretend it’s 2012 when I had no idea MTG existed,” someone else tweeted.
dr Oz is currently running for Senate in Pennsylvania’s Republican primary. He won Donald Trump’s support in a major coup, but the election outraged many of MAGA’s loyalists. Even some of Mr Trump’s staunchest supporters have refused to let Dr. Accepting Oz as a genuine member of their movement, citing his previous positions on abortion, trans rights and other issues.
Ms. Greene, one of the former President’s staunchest allies in Congress, made it clear that her allegiance does not extend to Dr. Oz extends.
“Talk to REAL Americans and learn what it would mean to serve THEM in the US Senate IF they elect you,” she ordered the candidate.
