Ligue 2: François-Coty in gala attire for AC Ajaccio – Toulouse
The final championship match that could allow the ACA to access Ligue 1, Saturday evening when they receive Toulouse, will be sold out. This record attendance can be achieved thanks to the removal of advertising tarpaulins, installed since 2020
The effervescence continues to grow, on the side of Timizzolo, the last days. I have to say that AC will challenge a genuine finalSaturday evening (7 p.m.), facing the new champion of France of League 2 : the FC Toulouse. Since the draw obtained by the Ours a Grenoble (1-1) and the obligation to win this final meeting to reach the elite, everyone wants their entry ticket for Saturday evening.

In his office at the François Coty stadium, Anthony Gaglione, the ticketing manager, has to deal with incessant requests. In addition to the players, there are leaders or partners who go to Timizzolo to try to snatch the famous sesame. ” But it’s over ! There is no longer a place”, said the young man, this Tuesday morning. Especially since the François Coty stadium is not a place where tickets are sold, which, it should be remembered, is available online on the club’s website (ac-ajaccio.corse) or in store, located rue Fesch.
“However, it is not the strongest emulation that I have known. I remember that in terms of ticketing, the play-off match against Le Havre (2017-2018 season) was even more intense”said Anthony Gaglione.
The stadium is fully open
Nevertheless, the excitement has been palpable in the imperial city since last weekend. Moreover, faced with the popular enthusiasm, the leaders of the association decided to withdraw, in the first place, two of the four tarpaulins placed in the Faedda and Poli stands. You should know that these giant advertising panels are heat-sealed and therefore cannot be removed without being torn. However, the game was worth the candle. “We sold the additional 1,500 tickets in just six hours! It was a real record. The team will therefore play sold out, in the current configuration of the stadium, that is to say 6,000 places.continued the ticket office manager.
This Tuesday morning, the stadium’s capacity was planned to remain as it was. Indeed, the last two advertising tarpaulins have been maintained. “It’s an annual sponsorship that has been exceeded with our partner. The latter was kind enough to agree to withdraw two of them, but the others had to stay. Then we have a stadium filling strategy that tends to create a real need. This lack of places can also cause some of them to want to subscribe next year”explained Anthony Gaglione.
Ultimate places on sale today
But this Tuesday afternoon, a twist! Faced with insistence and strong demand, the Ajaccien leaders reconsidered their decision. “The pressure is way too much! We are going to uncover all the stands, ” said the side of the ACA.
It is therefore an enclosure of nearly 8,000 places which will be ready to welcome Ajaccio supporters on Saturday evening. Only the south stand, sea side, which is no longer approved, remains closed. The last places are therefore on sale, since Tuesday evening, at the usual prices (between 5 € and 18 €). “Our football school and all our young people will also be invited to attend this gala meeting, in the stand of honor”Anthony added.
Throughout the day on Tuesday, the maintenance services therefore worked to restore the various sectors that had remained covered over the past two seasons. François Coty will therefore be ready, on Saturday evening, to be the scene of this dream final between the ACA and Téfécé.
As for the entertainment, a group made up of Corsican singers from Canta u Populu Corsu and Voce di a Gravona will be present to perform several titles before the game kicks off.
Courbis too superstitious
A giant counter will be installed, behind the JB Poli stand, to allow supporters to eat in a friendly space. Then, several surprises will be revealed, at the final whistle, in the event of accession to Ligue 1. “Everything will be done to make this moment historic”explained Jean-Do Gazziello, the communication officer of the Ajaccio club.

On the other hand, the former coach of the ACA, Rolland Courbis, will ultimately not be present. He who had allowed the Corsicans to find Ligue 1, just twenty years ago, preferred to decline the invitation. “By superstition”he explained, before continuing: “I had not come, for professional reasons, for the 20th anniversary match against Pau (2-1) and it went well. This time, I prefer not to come, out of superstition and that everything goes well too, against Toulouse. But I can tell you that I knock on wood with all my might. On the other hand, if there is accession and a party is planned, a few days later, I will be there. »
The Ajaccian delegation has probably never wanted to meet him so much…
