Gareth Wittstock, Princess Charlene’s brother, has become a Monegasque
Installed for more than 10 years in the Principality, Gareth Wittstock, one of the two brothers of Princess Charlene of Monaco, has just been naturalized Monegasque.
Like his big sister Princess Charlene, Gareth Wittstock married the Principality of Monaco more than ten years ago. The eldest of the two young brothers of the former South African swimmer has indeed decided to also live and work there. This businessman is very active there, working in particular through the Princess Charlene Foundation, of which he has been the secretary general since 2018.

A lifestyle choice that led him to apply for Monegasque nationality. Which has just been granted to him by his brother-in-law, Prince Albert II, the only person authorized in the matter. The order for his naturalization was published in the Official Journal of Monaco on April 27, 2022.

Born June 25, 1982 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe two years after Charlène and a year before their brother Sean, Gareth Wittstock married in Monaco in September 2015 Roisin Galvin, a former dancer he met in Monaco. She had been his companion for five years and had given him a daughter, Kaia-Rose, in 2013. Barely older than her cousins Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella of Monaco, the girl is often pictured with them at events they attend. Princess Charlene is her godmother, while Gareth is Gabriella’s godfather.
