From Monaco to Montpellier in triathlon: the crazy challenge of a Brabançon, to help the homeless in Brussels
Arnaud de Meester will begin his challenge at the beginning of June.
It is a triathlon of 453 kilometers that Arnaud de Meester is preparing to carry out, from next July 3: the Brabant ultra-triathlete, who works in the field of events and communication, will thus connect the Principality of Monaco to the city from Montpellier, via Saint-Tropez. And this during a race, nicknamed “Azuroman”, mixing running, swimming and cycling.
The adventure will begin, first, with 120 kilometers of running.from the Principality of Monaco to Sainte-Maxime; along the side passing through Nice and its Promenade des Anglais, Cannes and its Boulevard de la Croisette, but also Saint-Raphaël and Fréjus to finally arrive in Sainte-Maxime!», Indicates Arnaud de Meester, who will continue with 33km of swimming «starting from the beach of La Croisette towards the beach of Grimaud five and a half kilometers away, to make three round trips“.
At the end of these two stages, it is by bike that the athlete will complete the remaining 300km by bike: “the last and longest stage! 300km by bike starting from Saint-Tropez and having as destination Montpellier. We leave the coast a bit to go through cities like Le Val, Aix-en-Provence or Arles“, explains the Brabançon.

For the benefit of street nurses
If this race represents a personal challenge for Arnaud de Meester, it will also raise funds for the Infirmiers de rue, a Brussels association that helps the homeless in the capital.
“Helping homeless people should be a mission taken much more seriously: this is the reason why Arnaud once again wishes to support the association ‘Infirmiers de rue’ which aims to put an end to homelessness, and this through aid for the relocation of people monitored and cared for, but also administrative procedures for patients“, we are told.
Nearly 500 euros have already been represented in this direction, thanks to the online kitty received on behalf of the Azuroman Challenge.

Other challenges already on the counter
The ultra-triathlete is not at his first challenge: for the Azuroman, he has notably carried out other ultra-triathlons, like the 666km of Knokke, the 666 Iceland Challenge, or the Enduroman . Helped by team members specialized in different fields (mental, osteopathy, nutrition, cardiology, technique, etc.), they also completed the 1000km cycle with us, and won the 300km indoor cycle race organized by BasicFit Belgium.
