Does Princess Charlene get paid by Albert of Monaco for her official appearances?
Last March, Charlene of Monaco was returning to the Rock after more than eight months of absence. “As soon as her health allows it, it will be with joy that the princess will once again share privileged moments of conviviality with the Monegasques who have missed her so much”, declared the Palace in a press release. Was Charlene’s health the only reason for her absence the previous months?
According to some reports, the princess returned to Monaco with an “ultra-confidential” contract in her pocket which she allegedly had her husband, the prince, sign. Albert of Monaco. One of the clauses of this agreement would be the payment of 12 million euros per year, for Charlène to appear alongside Albert during the public performances imposed by her main status. The Rose Ball or the Grand Prix, for example.
If no official response has been sent to these claims, they are already fueling rumors that attributed the absence of the princess to a relationship problem within the couple.
On April 30, Charlène made her comeback in official representation as part of the E-Grand Prix, after months of absence spent between South Africa and a Swiss clinic.
Last November, Prince Albert said that Charlène was then suffering from “fatigue, not just physical, which can only be treated by a period of rest and by monitoring”.
