Near Tarbes, four injured including one seriously in a frontal impact on the road to Toulouse
The accident left four injured, including one seriously at the Angos crossing on the RD 817, this Tuesday at the end of the day.
It was around 4:30 p.m. when the frontal impact occurred on the road to Toulouse (RD 817) after the Côte de Piétat and the crossing to reach the village of Angos. At the wheel of one of the two vehicles, a white Citroën C1, an 80-year-old man was seriously injured. In shock, the car’s engine and front passenger compartment were banned. The driver had to be extricated by firefighters who mobilized 16 men and five vehicles on the operation led by group leader Bruno Bille. He was evacuated in serious condition to the Tarbes hospital center. Opposite, in the other vehicle, a Ford Focus C-Max, parents in their forties and their 5-year-old daughter were evacuated in shock by ambulances from the firefighters of the Rives rescue centers -Adour and Tarbes. But their days do not seem in danger. What happened ? Did one of the two vehicles veer into the opposite lane? Did the 80-year-old driver lose consciousness? The gendarmerie investigation will apply to determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
