Luxembourg represented in Annecy with three co-productions
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival, which will be held from June 13 to 18, has unveiled its selection, and what is certain is that Luxembourg will not only be competing on the Croisette this year.

The Annecy International Animation Film Festival, which will be held from June 13 to 18, has unveiled its selection, and what is certain is that Luxembourg will not only be competing on the Croisette this year.
The Luxembourg tricolor flag will be prominently displayed at the Annecy Animation Film Festival, through the promotion stand of the Film fund which will be present at the International Animation Film Market (MIFA) for the 21st time.
About fifteen Luxembourg animation companies will be welcomed there, ranging from production to studios and service providers, in order to promote Luxembourg animation thanks to this important annual meeting bringing together professionals from all over the world.
Three productions in official competition
If the voices of Alain Chabat and Laurent Lafitte will be far from being unknown to all those who will hear them, only the most informed will know that “Little Nicolas – What are we waiting for to be happy?was co-produced by Lilian Eche and Christel Henon of the Luxembourg company Bidibul Productions.
The final result is indeed the result of a Franco-Luxembourgish collaboration, since the layout decorations and the colors were provided by the Workshop 352 de Contern, compositing and special effects by the studio Luxembourg Onyx Lux 3D. Finally, the studios Philophon de Bettembourg were on hand for the sound editing, sound effects and mixing, while the music for the animated film was recorded at the Philharmonie de Luxembourg.
A work bringing to life for the first time on screen the adventures of a laughing and prankish little boy created by René Goscinny and Jean-Jacques Sempé, between camaraderie, disputes, fights, games, but above all nonsense and punishment, a real little ode to the ‘Childhood made of many joys and many learnings.

On the co-production sideBlind willows, sleeping woman» co-produced by Pierre Urbain and David Mouraire of the niche movies Based in Differdange and produced by Pierre Földes, a large part of the animation is stamped made in Luxembourg, for which a mixed 2D/3D technique was used. The sound post-production was also carried out by the studios Philophon.
On the program, a stray cat, a giant and talkative toad and a tsunami helped a nondescript sales representative, his desperate wife and a schizophrenic accountant save Tokyo from an earthquake and restore meaning to their existence.
At last, “My love affair with marriageco-produced by Raoul Nadalet and directed by Signe Bauman led the Luxembourg producer to work for several months with his sound team in close collaboration with Latvia and the United States to achieve a unique high-level sound for this animation based at the start on the hypnotic song of the sirens of mythology which pushes the heroine Zelma to launch out in search of the perfect love and the marriage which lasts.
