a new restaurant is settling in the Château de la Mounède
A Toulouse, a new restaurant has been added to the list of gourmet addresses. Its particularity: it is located in a historic building. Indeed, last April 4 opened a new restaurant at the Mounède castle. Dating from the 17th century, it is the oldest building in the Basso Cambo area, north of Toulouse. The opportunity for gourmets to live the life of a castle, the time of a meal.

“Original and seasonal cuisine”
baptized The Monediers, this new gastronomic place wishes “to be part of the history of this castle by implementing this name, while offering to bring a dose of modernity”, explain the hosts on their Facebook page. The restaurant highlights local products. Duck breast, risotto, perfect egg… Enough to satisfy the taste buds of Toulouse residents.
The icing on the cake: “the menu will change entirely with the seasons, the choice of wines too”, promise the restaurateurs. The latter will give “original, seasonal cuisine prepared with love”. Popular with companies located around the castle, this new address offers a gourmet and elegant break for lunch.
Four centuries of history at the Château de la Mounède
If it doesn’t look like it, the Mounede Castle has nevertheless seen four centuries of history pass by. Thus, it is a real heritage witness of the Toulouse area. On their Facebook page, the restorers retrace the history of the building: “this 17th century castle belonged to the Darbou family. The Clôt de l’Olm. The descendants acceded to the highest functions of Toulouse society, master coiner, hence the name Château du Monédier.
Giving new impetus to this historic building, the restaurant “Les Monédières” offers the possibility of organizing events in the evenings and weekends in collaboration with the PEP31, an association operating the castle’s 140 beds.
