Toulouse. Discovery weekend at the Opéra national du Capitole
On Saturday May 7 and Sunday May 8, 2022, the Opéra national du Capitole is taking part in the “Tous à l’Opéra” discovery event. Many appointments are given throughout the weekend.
On the program: a preview and a solidarity evening in Ukraine. The Opéra national du Capitole is taking part in “Tous à l’Opéra” this Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 May 2022. The establishment, newly labeled “National Opera in the Region”, offers numerous events throughout the weekend. This event was initiated by the Réunion des Opéras de France (ROF), as part of the European Opera Days. It is moreover Nathalie Stutzmaninternationally renowned French conductor and contralto who is the sponsor of this 15th edition.
The program of the Opéra national du Capitole
This event aims to “democratize lyrical art in France”. In Toulouse, the Opéra national du Capitole offers two days of programming: tour of the venue, rehearsals of The Barber of Seville, recital by the Capitol Choir, preview of the traveling opera Le Bus Figaro… The weekend will end with the arrival of the kyiv City Ballet, on Sunday May 8, at 6 p.m. at the Halle aux grains.
- Tours of the Théâtre du Capitole will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on this Saturday, May 7. FREE ENTRANCE.
- The rehearsals of the Barber of Seville are also on the program this Saturday with appointments at 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. or even at 6 p.m.. They are on registration on the site of the Capitol Theater From 10 years old.
- Appointment from 6 p.m. also at the Jardin Raymond VI for the preview of the traveling opera “Le Bus Figaro”. FREE ENTRANCE.
- End of the weekend with an evening of solidarity with the kyiv City Ballet. The concert starts at 6 p.m. at the Halle aux grains. Prices: 15 euros.
Ivan Kozlov will conduct the Ballet and offers a show in two parts: a 45-minute class and then excerpts from ballets. Their repertoire presented: Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Paquita, Le Corsaire, as well as more popular Ukrainian pieces. It should be noted that the National Opera of the Capitol will donate the profits of the evening to Doctors of the World which is on the ground with the victims of the war in Ukraine.
