Brussels can finally celebrate Irisfeest again
After two years without an urban edition, corona isn’t it, Irisfeest is back to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the Brussels Region.
In the Maison de la Poste on the Tour & Taxis site in Brussels, the Iris Festival was solemnly opened during a ceremony with striking highlights and speeches. State reform
Rachid Madrane (PS) of the Brussels parliament speaker has already looked ahead to 2024, to the state reform that is expected to come back on the political agenda after those elections. Madrane wants the people of Brussels to be taken into account and to be created that has also arisen.

With the state reform in sight, the Brussels politician acknowledged that he indeed has a model that works and has proven it. Nevertheless, a plan is being developed to make everything simpler and simpler, attuned to society.
Madrane has an important requirement: ‘We are ready to consider all proposals, with an open and constructive spirit. But we’ll set this up as a non-negotiable one first. These: possible reforms that we can be those where there is respect for the inhabitants of Brussels and for improving the lives of the inhabitants of our region.
Finally, he argued that during the reform, the debate on the special law on financing should be opened, so that the region and its municipalities are entitled to correct financing.
