AS Monaco do the rollercoaster in Lille
After a game generally controlled by the Red and Whites, Philippe Clément and his men obtained an eighth victory in a row at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium (1-2), and temporarily climbed the podium of the elite.
They did it ! Already winners of their last seven Ligue 1 outings, the AS Monaco players went to extend their incredible series at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, beating LOSC (1-2). In order to seek an 8th victory in a row in the elite, the best current performance in the Big 5, Philippe Clément decides to renew the eleven aligned in Rennes and in the Derby. With one exception, with the return of Guillermo Maripán in central hinge for his 28th birthday, alongside Benoît Badiashile.
The calm… before the Tchouameni storm!
The match started on a false rhythm, and it was not until the 7th minute to see Jonathan David offer himself the first strike, off target. In the process, it was Timothy Weah who forced Alexander Nübel to relax, in the middle (12th). A header from Gabriel Gudmundsson then escaped the cage of the German goalkeeper (19th). Pushed by an outdoor parking lot filled with more than 600 Monegasque supporters, in a sluggish Pierre-Mauroy stadium, the Red and Whites tried to react.
The 12th man with us! Thank you for the strength 🇲🇨

It was finally on a corner that Aurélien Tchouameni lit the first fuse, with a header (26th). Then he tries from a distance, but does not find the frame (31st). The pace fell again at the end of the first period, before the direct free kick attempted by Wissam Ben Yedder (40th). It’s countered by the wall! The opener finally comes just before the break, on a high recovery from Vanderson. The Monegasque captain receives and takes the ball to 16 meters then finds Aurélien Tchouameni behind who shifts on his left foot and ends up low (0-1, 42nd)!
Aren’t you happy? Double !
Second but for him in passing, and fifth assist for Wiss’. A welcome opener, even if it took a long time to take shape. Returning from the locker room, Philippe Clément’s men came back very strong with a fine shot from Aleksandr Golovin in the side netting (46th). Then a good header from Benoît Badiashile, who finished his race in the gloves of Leo Jardim (48th). LOSC responded with a blocked strike from Jonathan Bamba (50′).
Clutch player.

Entering the game, Angel Gomes then saw his shot go well past the post of Leo Jardim (65th). But he did not miss the opportunity to equalize, when Jonathan Bamba put him in orbit in the Monaco area (1-1, 69th). Lille finds a second wind, and Edon Zhegrova (71st) then Zeki Çelik (72nd) find striking positions. But the desire to make an impression is too strong for the Red and Whites, and Aurélien Tchouameni, again, lights a firecracker from 30 meters. It’s in (1-2, 75th)!
Provisional second place in Ligue 1
What a goal from the French international (8 caps, 1 goal), served by Caio Henrique’s eighth caviar this season in Ligue 1. Timothy Weah reacts for Lille, but his shot flies away in the turn (78th). Alexander Nübel this time shows great serenity in front of Zhegrova in one against one, like a hand keeper (85th). The score remains there, despite a few recent projections.
