3000 children (for the time being) have no place in Dutch-language primary education
Registrations for a place in Brussels Dutch-language primary education have been completed. They still show a great shortage of places, although 500 new ones were created this year.
Of the more than 6000 applications, almost 3000 children received an answer and no place.

Between 7 and 31, 6161 files were published by parents who registered their child for subsequent original education in Dutch-language primary education in Brussels. The parents of 3164 children received a positive answer. In addition, 25 brothers and sisters of pupils who are already in primary education have a place on the school benches. Nevertheless, 353 children could not go to school as their brother or sister, due to lack of space. Of all children, including followed siblings, who are allocated a place, 83 percent can go to their first choice of school and 96 percent can go to one of the three first choice of school.

Almost half of the children followed, 2997, did not find a place. an increase from 507 places to a total of 38,703 places in the deficit still despite the impossible.
