OM and Monaco inquire about Ndicka
At the end of the contract at Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023, Evan Ndicka does not intend to extend and his leaders plan to sell him this summer for around 20 million euros. In any case, this is what the German press has been saying for months, citing an interest from PSG, Arsenal or Newcastle for this 22-year-old left-handed central defender, who has played 40 games this season.
This Wednesday, the German media SportBild announces that Newcastle will send scouts to observe the semi-final second leg of the Europa League between Frankfurt and West Ham this Thursday. The Magpies, who will remain in the Premier League, have indeed been looking to recruit a left-handed central defender since last winter and have checked several names, including that of Ndicka.
Ndicka to replace Caleta-Car or Badiashile?
SportBild adds that OM and AS Monaco have also taken information about Ndicka from his agents. OM are preparing to lose Alvaro Gonzalez (breach of contract) and Boubacar Kamara (end of contract) while the future of Duje Caleta-Car (who switches left ax at OM) is uncertain, as is that of William Saliba, on loan from Arsenal with no option to buy (OM would like to keep him). Logical therefore that OM, who have already signed up central defender Samuel Gigot, are interested in Ndicka.
For Monaco, this interest also seems very likely since Newcastle and other English clubs are interested in Benoît Badiashile, a left-handed central defender, like Ndicka. Suspended in the first leg against the Hammers, Ndicka will normally start this Thursday against the English club. The opportunity for the former Auxerrois to show his suitors that he is worth recruiting this summer.
