FC Nantes | French Cup Final
On May 7 (9 p.m.), FC Nantes will challenge OGC Nice at the Stade de France for the Coupe de France final! After Sochaux, AS Vitré, Stade Brestois 29 and SC Bastia, AS Monaco is the last step to overcome to be one of the two finalists of this 21-22 edition.
The pressure is at its maximum at the start of this meeting, synonymous with the first semi-final of the Coupe de France for the Yellow and Greens since 2019. Before this game, Nantes is an exception since it is the only one of the four semi-finalists not to have conceded a single goal. Unfortunately, Maripan quickly found himself at this statistic, with a perfectly placed header (1-0, 12th). Touched but not sunk, the Yellows are emboldened, pushed by the people of Nantes. The pressure is strong and on a cross from Simon to Kolo Muani, it is Sidibé who with the tip of his foot, pushes and leather in his own net (1-1, 21 ‘). La Beaujoire capsizes for the first time, before doing so again, when Moutoussamy takes back a rebound left by Nubel (2-1, 74′). We then say that the Yellows have done the hardest but the advance is only short-lived. Boadu, who came into play a few minutes earlier, proved decisive with an unstoppable header (2-2, 76’). Time for the penalty shootout.
And in this little game, Antoine Kombouaré’s men proved to be more solid. Simon, very loosely, blows up the yellow and green volcano. A human tide then swept over the lawn in the direction of the players, overwhelmed by emotion!
