Economic and Cultural Forum in Milan: the Permanent Secretary of African Sovereigns and Traditional Leaders unveils the links
The Permanent Secretary of the Forum of Sovereigns and Traditional Leaders of Africa, Tchiffi Zié Jean Gervais, lifted a corner of the veil on the Milan Economic and Cultural Forum which will be held from September 9 to 12, 2022 in Milan and whose launch ceremony official is scheduled for Wednesday, May 25 in Rome, Italy.
Tchofni Zié Jean Gervais indicated during a press conference that he moderated on April 29 in Abidjan, that it will be a question for the African traditional authorities to trigger with European aristocrats, the financing of the projects carried by the kings and traditional chiefs of Africa. Which must deal with the problems of illegal immigration and the opening up of rural areas.
“We seek to open up our villages. To do this, we say that our chiefs must come and see other things elsewhere. How others live. Let them present projects and we will seek funding through our European aristocratic partners (….) We want to be funded directly by the European Union. To finance the projects of kings and chiefs in the communities, in the kingdoms, so that the development is direct, so that in our vision, the development starts from the village and not from the city”, he explained.
After having won the battle for the recognition of the Forum of Sovereigns and Traditional Leaders of Africa in the various constitutions of the continent, African aristocrats want to engage in the battle for the development of villages through the support of international institutions such as the European Union (EU).
African aristocrats intend to play cards on the table with economic operators, businessmen, donors, NGOs, foundations to address issues in the direction of reducing illegal immigration. “If in our villages, we manage to create jobs, our children will not only make a massive rural exodus, but also will no longer cross the Mediterranean to be killed by this icy water”, he argued.
According to the speaker, this economic forum will be marked by exhibitions of known African values and cultures, “exhibitions of excellence”.
At the end of his press conference, Tchiffi Zié signed a partnership agreement with Georges Williams Betoka, head of Bantoo. “It’s a memorandum of understanding that commits Bantoo to support the Forum of African Sovereigns in the framework of the project they have in September in Milan,” said Georges Williams Betoka.
Thus, this company undertakes to provide sovereigns with visa cards, to co-finance the forum, to digitize their activity, to give them the possibility of giving online conferences, etc.
