Sound picture book for Ukrainian children
There are a thousand and one ways to help Ukrainian war refugees. Franck Dubois and his Rouen-based communication agency Le Perroquet bleu are making a Franco-Ukrainian picture book available free of charge, in digital format.
They arrived by the hundreds, fleeing their country at war. Ukrainian families most often left to fend for themselves. In France, as in many other countries, solidarity initiatives have emerged to welcome them in the best possible conditions. In Rouen, the agency Le Perroquet bleu has decided to create a sound imaginary to help young Ukrainians speak French. “We had already initiated a series with English, Portuguese or Spanish, in e-pub format, without really having communicated on this product yet”, reveals Franck Dubois.
This time it’s common sense that dictates the schedule. This picture book contains about fifty words, they are presented both in French and in Ukrainian by Christina, a science-po student at Lycée Corneille. The young woman tries to pronounce the words as clearly as possible.
The first returns are rather encouraged, if we are to believe Franck Dubois: “This picture book allows its French and Ukrainian users to spend half an hour around a support, it has the merit of freeing speech and making the convivial moment”. This is surely the most important thing, first of all. There is no measurement tool that can count – yet – the number of downloads.
Present on the “stores” and on Google Book, the imager makes it possible to read, in both languages, but also to listen. The content has really been designed for children, an increased version of around fifty words could see the light of day.
